Dairy free Chocolate Bark!
The original recipe came from Lorraine Pascal's Last Minute Christmas programme but I had to adapt it to be freefrom!
You can make it free from most things but choosing a suitable chocolate and suitable toppings. I make it using:
300gms dairy free dark chocolate
300gms dairy free white chocolate (I use the organica white but it does carry contamination warnings for nuts and dairy so it depends who intolerant/allergic someone is).
For toppings:
you can use nuts, dried fruit, sprinkles, chocolate drops - whatever is safe for your family - or leave it plain on top if you prefer.
1) melt both chocolates in separate bowls over separate pans of simmering water.
2) when they've melted, pour the dark chocolate first, into a shallow tin that has been lined. Spread the chocolate out to the edges.
3) pour the white chocolate in a line lengthways down the middle of the dark chocolate.
4) use a skewer to twirl the white chocolate out into the dark chocolate to make a pattern.
5) sprinkle any toppings you've chose over the top of the chocolate adn then put in a fridge or cool place for a few hours to cool.
6) Once cool, break into large chunks.
Lorraine Pascal uses these as gifts but we also use them instead of waffers in bowls of dairy free icecream, or as decoration on top of homemade chocolate cake or we just eat chunks as a treat!
