Tongue-Tie

My son was born with a tongue-tie. He had it corrected when he was only 4 days old.
I just wanted to reassure any parents out there that the correction is not as bad as you might think. I was really worried he'd suffer pain as they don't give anaesthetics but he only cried for a few minutes afterwards.
I was also worried it would bleed a lot but the midwife told me to put him to the breast straight away and it really helped stem the blood flow.
After a good feed, he calmed down and seemed fine.
I was told i could leave the tongue tie in place but that it may affect his speech and it was already affecting his feeding - i am pleased i decided to go for it. I'm also pleased i took my hubby to hold my son as i just couldn't be in the room when they did it.
