Great Ormond Street have a really useful website called ‘teens first for health’ which can help and support teenagers facing difficult medical procedures and help them come to terms with a diagnosis. Visit the website:

The Great Ormond Street article says that most young people will wait less than 18months for a new heart. To help teenagers cope with the wait they suggest that teenagers try to talk with someone who has already had a transplant – try www.heart-transplants.co.uk .
