Kinesiology / Orthodontics / Intolerances
My 12 year old son is wearing an Orhodontic Brace to pull his lower jaw forward and correct an under bite. He has also reached puberty. He has been complaining of feeling unwell for some time - sometimes his head hurts, sometimes his stomach and sometimes he feels very lethargic. During the first half of the summer holidays he had good days and bad. Halfway through the holidays his brace was adjusted to pull more on one side than the other. Within a couple of days he complained of a very stiff and painful jaw and one cheek swelled up. We were away on holiday at the time so I gave him paracetemol and decided it must be the teeth I knew he was cutting. The swelling went down after about 4 days and he then developed a sore throat and slight fever. I treated him with echinacea and colloidal silver. The other side of his jaw then became very stiff and painful and that cheek swelled up! He took himself off to bed for 2 days whilst we pondered glandular fever, mumps etc! On our return home I took him to the Orthodontist who said he was cutting his upper back molars. I then took him to the Kinesiologist who was able to show me that the brace was affecting his body on all levels. His adrenals were really struggling to cope. She was able to re-balance his body for him and prescribed a zinc supplement. We then visited our Chiropractor who confirmed all of this and said his whole body was out of alignment, including the pelvis, all as a result of the brace. Both explained to us that the jaw plays a crucial part in our well-being. He was re-aligned and the pressure on his jaw released, and that evening a very different child began to emerge! The following day he was bursting with vitality and energy - just how he should be. I am not sure that we could have achieved such a speedy and successful outcome with a visit to the doctor!
Whilst at the Kinesiologist I asked her to check my 14-year old son who I discovered had been taking Rennies unbeknown to me because he was suffering from indigestion. He had also been complaining of fuzzy headaches. She discovered an intolerance to coffee! He enjoys a cup of coffee and had been drinking around 2 cups a day during the holidays. His body was trying to tell him that it wasn't a good idea! The intolerance was eliminated using NAET, and he has agreed to restrict his intake to one cup a week from now on. I found this discovery invaluable because without it he would have become a regular Rennies and paracetemol user and caffeine addict.
