Christmas!!!

As always, I was really excited about Christmas and this year was the first Christmas that the kids haven't been ill! It's been heaven and they've loved it!
Things have been going quite well in terms of their gut symptoms, our youngest hasn't had dairhoea for a few months and our eldest hasn't been complaining of tummy aches every day for a while. Maybe the ketotifen and restricted diet is really working!
They take azithromycin fortnightly (an antibiotic) and this is helping keep the number of illnesses down. When they have been ill they've been like other kids rather than in pain and distress for ages.
Our eldest is still fairly rigid where food is concerned but he has been willing to try some new things and our reward system (he gets a lego block every time he tries something new and when he's collected 10 he gets to choose a prize from the 'present box') is working well.
our youngest isn't doing so great food wise. He still spits out food quite a bit and frequently goes without meals. He still has at least 600ml's neocate a day - more if he won't eat. His sleeping is still a problem too and last week we had 5 awful nights- we never know why. but, i'm just so glad he's not in as much pain now - that makes the sleep deprivation more bearable.
our eldest still has the mouth ulcer problem (and i think our youngest has it too) and we saw an oral consultant on monday who said she needs to do blood tests before she can offer advice. we should get the results in january. She said it could be due to the gut problems he has or a B12 deficiency.
Both our little ones get leg/feet pain and it's affecting our eldest in swimming lessons - i wonder if it's connected to EGID or not?? I guess that's a question for GOSH when we go in January.
Anyway, happy Christmas!!
