Is anyone elses child taking Lansoprazole FasTab?

Hi
Just wondering if anyone elses child is taking Lansaprazole and what dose? My son is 6 and has been prescribed the 30mg but the leaflet inside says it should be the lower dose (15mg) for GORD? My pharmacist couldn't help as the product isn't licensed for children so they don't have set dosage guidelines for children.
I found a Canadian website also saying children should have the 15mg if they weight under 30kg?
I'd be grateful if someone could let me know what dose their child takes so I know whether the 30mg is too high?
Thanks
Kitty

Hi Kitty
My four year old daughter has just been prescribed 30 mg lanzaprazole also. I was surprised, but I trust her Consultant so I am giving it to her.
Hi,
Thanks for this info. I double checked with my GP and he recommended starting it on 15mg to start with but I think the fact that others are on 30mg must mean it would have been ok. We haven't actually started it yet as the other medicines we started around the same time have been helping lots so i'm holding on to the Lansoprazole and will start it when he starts to flare up again. I hate to give him any more medicines unless I need to.
Thanks everyone,
Kitty
