The steroids have had little impact. I would say he is complaining of a bit less pain but that has also coincided with him eating less.

got the new backpack
Submitted by helenb8man on Wed, 04/29/2009 - 19:44.Ben's new backpack arrived today. I'd spoken to the gosh dietiican on friday and she had initally suggested taking Ben off the little solid food he is eating for a while. Said we were reluctant to do that without discussion with his consultant. We compromised with putting him on his feed during the day to try and get some more calories in him.
Two children with gut problems
Submitted by helenb8man on Wed, 04/22/2009 - 09:15.Hi
My name is Helen. I am 35, married to Paul and have 2 children. Izzy is 4 and Ben is 3.
Izzy was born at full term after interuterine insemmination. She had been a twin pregnancy but we lost her brother or sister at about 12 weeks. That is probably the reason she was classed as IUGR or interuterine growth retarded as she was under 2.5kg

Relapse
Submitted by Kitty on Sat, 01/17/2009 - 22:19.My 2 boys seem to be having a relapse.
Our eldest is having tummy aches, has 2 painful mouth ulcers, off his food, is very tired and looks pale.
Our youngest has had loose stools again and is having trouble sleeping - some nights he's thrashing for hours. We are all desperate for some decent sleep! He's still spitting his food a bit too but we've just realised he too has the mouth ulcer problem so maybe he's spitting the food out because it hurts?
Christmas!!!
Submitted by Kitty on Fri, 12/26/2008 - 20:54.As always, I was really excited about Christmas and this year was the first Christmas that the kids haven't been ill! It's been heaven and they've loved it!
Things have been going quite well in terms of their gut symptoms, our youngest hasn't had dairhoea for a few months and our eldest hasn't been complaining of tummy aches every day for a while. Maybe the ketotifen and restricted diet is really working!
When soya isn't soya
Submitted by Parentsown on Wed, 11/26/2008 - 21:15.Continuing with our look in to food labelling and in particular how manufacturers of food don't always seem to have the consumer (or at least the consumer with allergies) in mind, we continued to press the Foods Standard Agency on a few loose ends that we wanted tied up.
challenging behaviour
Submitted by Kitty on Mon, 11/17/2008 - 20:53.my boys are fighting non stop at the moment - the youngest can be very aggresive and i suspect it's because he is hungry and tired all the time. he hits his brother a lot and really hurts him. not sure what i can do as i can't make him eat properly and can't get him sleeping better.
