Steve reaches day five on EO28

Had real problems getting out of bed this morning.  Nearly 7 am before i could drag myself up.  Luckily (for my timings anyway) the 2 boys were at hospital today, so only Alexandra to sort out.  Did not even think of breakfast this morning, too busy running around to get to work on time.  Almost forgot my feed again, my brain is definitely telling me that i should not be drinking the Elemental.

Whilst in the bathroom, i decided to step on the scales, a total of 8lbs lost, good job I'm a chunky monkey and have the weight to lose!  Noticed that the roof of my mouth was sore and quite lumpy.  Not mouth ulcers as i suffered these as a child badly, this feels quite different.  Also, the backs of my teeth have a coating over them and it's quite rough.  did not spend as much time in the bathroom as i would normally would, if you get my meaning!!!  I was warned it can cause the opposite of my normal routine (see day 2)

Got to work just in time, feed into the fridge and a cup of black tea.  Was feeling positive today as i was starting to collate my handover pack for next month.  I have been in this job for 2 yrs 7 months and 20 days (not that i am counting) and have 44 days to go until my new job.  I work with some good people, but at times it takes all my strength not to put some of them sky side up!!

Had my feed a little earlier as it was Commanding Officers PT at 1100.  Now i am an old wreck now, and parts of me are completely broken.  Whilst everyone else is off running with a 35lb backpack, i go with the OAPs to the gym and wobble on the treadmill.  Went today, and was completely devoid of any energy at all.  Did not even break into a sweat, gave up and went back to work by 1120am.

As for the feed, the strawberry is much better than the banana.  The foul acid taste still manages to cut through the strawberry though, how on earth anyone can drink this without flavouring it is beyond me.  I am lucky that our 2 boys can have the Crusha syrup, we don't use it normally and any child taking more than a tablespoon would have to peeled off the ceiling.

Strangely, the feed did not seem to fill me as well today, have felt hungry all day, and more than a little dizzy.  The majority at work finish at 1 30pm, so lots of "well done for making it through the week".  When i told them a week was 7 days and i'm not finished until Monday, some laughed, some rolled hysterically on the floor but most just told me all about the lovely food they would be eating over the weekend, squaddie humour my arse!!

Thankfully i had to collect Alexandra from school, so i finished the feed a little too quickly, it really hurt my throat and i had a bit of acid reflux, first time this week even with the acidic taste.  Left work at 3 and went to pick up Axe, then drove the 30odd miles to the in-laws to collect the other Shell and the boys.  Normally on a friday we would stay over and have a lovely meal and a drink.  came home, plus we have lots to do in prep for the move.  Shell dragged me to the supermarket on the way.

Now anyone who knows me will tell you i love one food above all others, a nice juicy steak, with some mushrooms!!!! Guess what Shell bought for her dinner (callum decided he would try some).  They made sure that i was aware how nice it looked.  Got home and something funny happened.

When Callum was younger, he always loved rare steak (something about protein intake, hence rare to medium rare).  Now we were always encouraged to have him at the table when on feed.  I used to joke with him to take the pressure out of the situation.  Oh how he loved to turn the tables tonight, rubbing his tum and telling me how lovely the steak was, he even threatened to leave the dining table and sit next to me so i could watch, i love my kids!!!!  I am now dreading the weekend, especially as i normally take over the cooking on a Saturday, if i am going to carry on as normal, then i should really do dinner (don't tell shell though!!).  Anyway still got around 300ml to go today, what's new for today then?

1. Callum has a wicked sense of humour!

2. Going shopping must be like purgatory to someone living on feed.

3. I can't wait to move to the south of England (never thought i would say that)

4. Suzanne, shell had my fave food tonight!! The only surprise is that she didn't get me to cook it.

5. I should patent this as a new diet plan!
