Great Ormond Street Hospital CharityKilimanjaro is one of Africa’s most magnificent sights, and at 5,985m it is her highest peak. It is the tallest freestanding volcano in the world. Tackle this charity challenge and help Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The Gastroenterology department at Great Ormond Street Hospital is one of the largest centres in the UK, treating thousands of children every year with with complex and life-limiting conditions affecting the gut as well as the pancreas and liver.

The team is led by Dr Nikhil Thapar, who, alongside Dr Neil Shah, decided to take on the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.

The aim is to raise funds for a new research project into understanding the genetic causes and improving therapies for infant inflammatory bowel disease. The new developments will allow the team to continue to provide the world-class standard of care expected from Great Ormond Street Hospital.

By signing up to this challenge you will trek alongside the hospital team and help them raise vital funds towards this equipment.
